/ Jen Liu /
Jen Liu is a researcher and designer working at the intersections of technology and culture. Her current research seeks to consider the role of design in the Anthropocene by examining and mediating human-nonhuman relationships through interactive technologies. Her work has been exhibited, presented, and published in several venues, including the U.S. Science and Engineering Festival, the International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA), and the Conference on Tangible, Embedded, and Embodied Interactions (TEI). She holds a BFA in Fiber Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art and a Master in Tangible Interaction Design from Carnegie Mellon University. Jen is currently a PhD student at the ATLAS institute and a member of the Unstable Design Lab directed by Dr. Laura Devendorf.

Christopher M. Carruth is an artist, technologist, and educator whose work ranges from writing to visual arts. For nearly two decades, he's drawn from a rich and eclectic background in emerging technologies, critical media studies, and visual art to approach the mutual influence of technology and society with playful inquisitiveness. In addition to his creative practice, he is an Instructor at the ATLAS Institute at University of Colorado.

The final MAL/BTU Lab Take It Aparty of the semester is coming! We will focus on re-purposing this time around, and will be pulling usable parts from various electronics in order to build new devices. Everyone is welcome! Bring your broken things & see what we can do with them!
